They are lovely. When I go outside and look at them; it doesn't matter if it is morning or evening; they make me smile. I luv my flowers ;-)

Very easy, do not be intimidated. Plan to plant your seeds in at least partial sunlight (I have mine on the east side where they have full sunlight).Turn up the soil at least 4" to loosen it up well. Pull out any weeds and grasses. Once that is done you drop the seeds about an inch apart and gently sprinkle soil to just cover the seeds . You don't need a lot of soil on top; but enough that the birds won't come by and eat all the seeds laying there.
Gently mist the area with a spray bottle or your hose (gently or you will wash them away!). I keep mine moist all the time. Do not soak the area and do not let is turn to dust from drought. You can start indoors if you prefer.
The seeds will germinate in 10-14 days. It really depends upon the soil and your location. I have had seeds germinate in as few as 5 days.
**Once your plants start to bloom; cut the spikes off and they will bloom again in the fall**
Try your hand at these and marigolds and different annuals. Once you get the feel for it go to flower bulbs and you will find this is a lot of fun :-)
