As a delegate to the Continental Congress, Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, and was later elected our 3rd President. He died on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
A secret mark was added by Continental Bank Note Company – a small crescent was cut into the ball directly under the “E” in “POSTAGE.”
