During World War II in order to cut down on space needed on cargo ships, a program called V-Mail was started. Letters to soldiers overseas would be written on a V-Mail form, the letters would be photographed and the film containing hundreds of letters would be sent overseas where it would be processed and photocopies of the letters passed to the soldiers. The auction is for the V-Mail letter form shown in first two pictures of the V-Mail form front and back.
