This is a beautiful, burnished gold (not bright, shiny like the photos look) very, very dainty chain. The first two photos (taken on the "close-up" setting) show it next to a penny. The chain is round and looks like a tiny twisted braid of chains. It is 18" long. I do not know if this is "real" gold. For what it's worth, I can say it is not drawn to a magnate, & it does not make my neck itch. (I am allergic to most metals except gold and sterling silver). With that said, this is a very pretty and dainty chain and when I wore it (years ago) I got many compliments on how dainty and different it was. Plus with the clasp being so tiny, I could hang almost anything on it.
