It doesn't use batteries. Theres a place on the bottom to plug it in to the actual charger to charge it up. Just make sure you charge it before you go someplace. If you let the external charger fully charge it will charge your phone about 50-60%. Good for when you dont like to carry your charger around.

it should fit for nano. It fits ipod touches also.
