It is washable and my guess would be that it would hold up to about 15 pounds. It was my daughter's and I have never used one. I am sorry that I do not know exactly, but the tags do not give specifications. Thanks for your interest!

see this ad--I am selling for my daughter--this is the exact sling that is sold on Amazon. I would say that it is for a newborn to 3-6 months.

sorry---this ad is ridiculous--just look up jelly bean sling and you can find it. It is apparently for a small baby from newborn to about 6 months.
