will this make them stop barking completely or ONLY WHEN THIS BUTTON IS CLICKED?? will they eventually think they are no longer aloud to BARK and think that if they do they will hear that noise everyx they do?????

I think it depends on the dog. Our smaller dog (yorky poo)seemed to bark less when it was on, our other dog (peke a poo) didn't seem to care. If you Google "bark off" you can find the product page and learn more about it. Thanks for your interest!
