Carnelian is a color named after the carnelian variety of the mineral chalcedony. This semi-precious gemstone is noted for its rich shade of reddish-brown.Today, it is primarily mined in India, Brazil, and Australia, and it was widely used throughout the Ancient world as well.

Carnelians have been believed to special healing powers for those that carry them and are recommended for numerous conditions. If you have lower back problems, the stone is said to ease the pain.
