I'm on my way to the funny farm since I actually measured this and took more photos on Friday when I got home but apparently never posted :O So sorry the width is 2 1/2 inches length is 3 1/2 inches I don't know what the metal is but it's not sterling silver. It is a very sturdy piece though with a very pretty filigree pattern. I'm going to post those pix I took on Friday right now.
