The listing, Elephant letter opener has ended.

This a neat old letter opener with elephants on it. Not sure what it is made of but I think its probably a 1950's or 60's item. This one is in very good condition.

No it is not made of ivory. It is a plastic of some sort. I am guessing it is not celloid either but not positive about that.

its probably made of tusk... carved into a tusk...

Could be celluloid, just not positive. It should open letters just as well as it ever did assuming someone really used it for that.
