No, it's not a scam. My daughter has decided she no longer wants to use ITunes, but has a boatload of cards. She removes tags/stickers/etc. from EVERYTHING she gets before she decides if she's going to keep the item or use the item. Such is the case with this card - she scratched the back to reveal the code. That's why I mentioned in the listing that I have an email from ITunes (dated 6/29/11) verifying that it hasn't been used and is worth $10.00. If you want a copy, say the word and I'll forward it to you. I also thought that since the card is a Christmas ornament and it's July, the winner would rather have the code only. Hope this clears up any concern.
