Up for auction is a 1984 First American Printing of The Book of Lost Tales Hardcover by J.R.R. Tolkien. Featuring the history of Middle Earth, The Book of Lost Tales holds the distinction of being first major work of J.R.R. Tolkien originally written in 1916, which means that this predates The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy! The book itself is in good condition with only some light scuffs and all pages intact. The slipcover features some tears and creases but it otherwise intact as well. This has long since been out of production and would make a rare addition to the collection of any Tolkien fan or perfect gift for the holiday season.
