Looks complicated, I know. There's a 'push' drawer that opens and a felt pads is in there (spares are store in the bottom) where the AA batteries are (included). You put approx 5-8 drops of fragrance oil on the pad, push the draw closed, press the light-up button next to the drawer and a gentle fan blows up through the top of the Scentbug and scents the room -- aahhhhh -- Fabulous! I used mine when hubby and I stayed in a hotel. It really made the whole room (full sized suite) smell fabulous in about 10 minutes without using electric or candles. Perfect for anyone with children or pets. Thanks for asking --Fanned!
