I remember how I was for so many years before I finally received my "official Diagnosis" I have taken part in a Longitudinal Bipolar Study at the University of Michigan,have learned so much about my Disease: I am a Schizo-Affective Disease (not a Syndrome) Bipolar I Mixed type and Rapid Cycler. Pretty awful stuff! Yet this study let's me feel I am on the forefront of learning more and more about the genetic factors and the type of my Bipolar Disease. I am in my 4th year, and have 6 more to go! Such a truly valuable tool.
There is still too much Stigma associated with Mental Illness. But as you said, if we choose to not let it define us, we can be become used by God to become incredible people! WE learn so much compassion for others. Especially those who have this disease, treated, or even worse, untreated
You are also an amazing person with the help of your Lord and Savior.

Oh my MsTeri. I have seen horrible things done to-especially sellers who have, pardon me, stellar records! they don't even look at them and think, "well hey, maybe something is wrong with this person and we could be praying for her or something. But nooooo, they eat em alive!!!
that's why I am not too afraid to tell people what is going on. For one, I was a nurse in a former life LOL (a healthier and more 'alive' life) so nothing i s sacred to me, and two, I think it is better just to let people know if you are able. But then, like your friend. what if You are unable to do so? Nope, it's a sad fact that people can have such a vicious side!

I'm sorry I haven't been replying to my comments. I have been Narcoleptic again, and nothing-not even the med I was given for it, helps when it get's bad.
NOT whining gah! Just trying to explain, that's all. So, any who, I am back now heheheh.
Ok, sweetie, what it does is for people like me who have pretty much black hair, but very thin and light eyebrows is fill them in some and make them match up with my hair. LOL The first one I tried ws in black/brown. omgosh! It was like freakish! then I went all the way down to the blonde. Perfect. It has a compartment with the color line brush to paint in color like hair grows, then the other side is a light color on a brush where you can brush them to look even more natural and get them hairs all in place! ≧^◡^≦ It works wonderfully, but then I have been painting in my very thin brows since I was a teenager! the products to use have just gotten better and better-like this one.

What incredible compliments you have given me! If I told you it was easy I would be one great big liar! I am almost 56, and it took every one of those years to gain the ground I have, hard-won! But I always told myself-and my daughter, who suffered through my untreated Bipolar days-that my goal was to become a better person all of the time. To never stop moving forward. And I have not. And it is just so amazing the things I learn almost every day!

I also give my Lord a lot of the credit. I am Spiritual, not Religious. Religion was set up by man to control. Spirituality is free and gives one choices-the way it was intended. So I cannot take all of the credit. Forgiving others, and, even more important-forgiving myself for poor choices made and some of the rage and therefore hurtful things I have also done, and sometimes even asking for forgiveness, has been my biggest source of healing and lessons learned.

I, too, have songs go through my head-I was once a professional Vocalist, till I became greater than the gift, if you know what I mean. I lost it, and I do not believe it was punishment. I believe it was a door that closed, maybe for awhile, maybe for good, I don't know. But the ability to make beautiful jewelry came to me out of "nowhere" (yeah. right.) and it fills a tremendous void inside and gives me joy in each day.

I have been to a few of you and your's (I'm Bipolar. Nor am I afraid to talk about that, either) but I also have gained a whole lot of insight into the Human "soul" if you will as I have grown up-especially with a severe mental illness. People are often just arbitrarily mean. Granted, as you can hopefully learn from my auctions, most people are usually very kind really. It's the dark and the evil that lurks closer to the surface that I believe makes the difference. And the conscious choice to be that way.

And yes, caring is invaluable! Even some of those "evil" people are really just frightened, lonely and most likely terribly hurt themselves. I have-and I am sure you have also-seen a real 'hard case' fall apart when shown love and compassion. Especially when it is given by the Lord God I believe in. Who cares most of all! I always like to clarify with people straight out: I am NOT Religious. Religion was created by men to control. I am Spiritual, and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ who loved and cared for so many people, who didn't even have a home! This is what I mean when I say-"My Faith" And when it is sincere, people often just crumble in front of that pure love, manifested in us. In you. For we are those who care and try to offer positive change, to help people, as are so many of my dear friends here on Listia and some I've met elsewhere! As millions and millions of people!

And well, maybe cuz I've been down a pretty tough road, I may even be a little tougher now than I ever was about 'speaking out!!' I despise injustice. I will not jump on the person doing the injustice, but I will go for the actions! And not always quite so nice. The one thing I often do is try to get the 'mean' person to step into the other's shoes for a minute or two. Quite often easier said then done. ;)
