Description
The listing, 1897 Theology Book - What Is Faith? has ended.
As D.L. Moody toured North America and Europe, he noticed a lack of Christian books in bookstores. He surveyed the state of Wisconsin and found that only one bookstore sold Christian books, and even then it was a small quantity and too expensive for the average American. This concerned Moody deeply, and out of this concern he founded the Bible Institute Colportage Association (BICA) in 1894.
Written in 1897, What Is Faith? is a compilation book written by various evangelists/pastors of the era. Evangelists and authors such as C.H. Spurgeon, D.L. Moody, Arthur Finlayson, and Alexander Maclaren all contributed.
Questions & Comments
Is this a reproduction made later on??? Thank you.
It is. I was 1/2 kidding. He eas raised a Southern Baptist, his sermon's arn't so much like a forum as this, but he does believe there are no excuses for missing Church on Sunday. Bible study is before church, so I have to miss because My new storefront is opening in 2 weeks & I have to attend the biggest vendor show of the year for stocking the store. That's the only day & time I can go. I am usually there 3-4 times a week, for life discussion's, bible study, Feeding ministry, & Church. He forgives me but he likes to use little punch words, when your not able to attend any of these. He is a great pastor & we do talk every couple day's. He did apologize to me, so all is good. But your right. A man speaking thru the lord should practice the saying "Holding the reigns on your toungue", noone is perfect. I too like to use my voice, sometimes it doesn't benefit me either. Thanks for replying, reading. Still watching!!! LOL, melanie38
This has to be my most watch auction yet. I won't be home or available to even try to win. I am heartbroken, of all days to not be available, ugh... Can you enter your highest bid & hide it somehow?
I'm not sure how that would work. Just enter the maximum amount you want to bid and hope for the best. That method works sometimes.
The book is really rare. Did you see the Pass It On page? These books were meant to be read and passed on. The book for auction doesn't have a single ink or pencil marking on it.
