The listing, LAPTOP HARD DRIVE 120GB has ended.

This is a laptop hard drive that came out of a dell inspiron laptop in 2008,it was my sons and he was having trouble with it so i contacted dell and they sent me a new one but i culdnt find this one at the time to send it back to them so i had to pay for the replacement,but we moved and guess what? i found this one. it nds a total restore on it and i believe i have all the restore disks for it(i will have to check and see if i can find them) it also has the black plastic handle/cover for it to slide into the inspiron spot for the hard drive but that is totally removed as ou can use this hard drive for any computer(laptop)that takes that size when you interchange the cases/covers for them.the following are the specs on the hard drive itself.

i believe his computer blue screened before i restored it back to the xp os
i do not remember if the xp os is still on this or if i put vista on it? im thinking it is the xp pro but i will find the disks and let you know in the comments what the disks are for.

if you want insurance on this then you have to pay thru paypal the 2.00 for insurance.i am charging 2.00 because paypal charges me so much for receiving the payment then it would not be enough to put 100.00 insurance on it,or even 50.00

update: I forgot to mention that this hard drive is sort of universal as it not only fits in a dell laptop but my neice was having trouble with her HP laptop that she had as it would act like it would turn on but nothing so I put this hard drive in her computer(just changed the bracketry) to see if it would start up ,we found out that yes it was starting up but she had something go wrong with her screen so she needs to get a new screen for her laptop. This might help some of you who were wondering if it would fit your laptop, I dont know if I am able to add another pic or not but I will try to add the pic of the end of the hard drive so you know what the end looks like to plug into your laptop. thanks again everyone,such great Listia members : )

To answer the SATA 1 vs 2 question, SATA is backward compatible so it doesn't matter, you just won't get the 6.0 gig/sec rate. They do make adapter boards that adapt from STAT to IDE but there's no room in a laptop for that. I really wouldn't put a 5400 rpm hard drive in my desktop but to each their own i guess. If you don't care about performance, have at it.

Hey i play wow too! Not all day though like some. I play for an hour maybe twice a week late at nite. I use to play every nite but dont have time anymore. But aarons is a shady place, at least that branch anyways, lol.

he just had so much crap downloaded on it he got a trojan and i had no restore disks until i ordered the new hard drive from dell because it was from arrons and they didnt give any disks with it. but after i got the disks i restored it and he used it for a while until i put vista on the other hard drive then he wanted that one,so it only needs to be redone because of personal things he might have had on there after the restore.he is a big gamer and wow was his main game so he downloaded a ton of junk on it.

O your lucky! Darn. I would like a 250GB, but im trying to keep costs low right now. I didnt pay anything for the laptop itself, just some repairs, new keyboard, plug, etc. and im ordering some other upgrades here on Listia, so im trying not to spend too much moneywise. Hope i see some 2GB memory sticks soon, that would be nice.

I am trying to keep cost low as well, but I just could not pass up a250 gb 7200 rpm HDD drive. Free shipping and it cost $26 It is a Fujitzu , so it was worth the bidding.I think you have this one in the bag. I asked what kind of problems she was having, but never got an answer. GL

Ya I was a bit nervous about that too, all she said was she got a blue screen of death, but it was bad enough where a simple reformat wasnt working and she had to order a whole new hard drive. But ill give it a try, hopefully its good.

it was reformatted after the blue screen so it does work now, i just didnt have the disks to do it until I had ordered the new one because we had gotten the laptop from a buy here pay here like arrons and they didnt give the disks with it and it didnt have the partition to recover it with already on it. so it is a great working hard drive just now needs to be reinstalled with the new os because of personal info on there. so nothing wrong with it that a new install wont fix just didnt have the disks to do it with

well as to the never got an answer it is quite rude to expect someone to answer right when you ask,I dont stay glued to my computer 24/7 I have alot of things to do and I dont believe that an hour time frame to wait for someone to answer you is bad, heck I have seen people not answer until the following day so before you say you never got an answer from one of my auctions you may want to give a person a break and wait for maybe hmmm I dont know a few hours because maybe they were at work and dont spend all their time in front of a computer waiting for someone to ask a question! sorry if it sounds rude but it sort of rubbed me the wrong way when people are impatient.

also on the not getting an answer back, I go to bed at 5 a.m. so I am in no way up at 8:30 a.m. when someone aasks me a question so they will get their answer when I get up and log into Listia and see a question I will answer it right away, as I did as soon as I got on my computer. I am a night owl and it drives my husband insane as he goes to bed at 10 p.m. to get up at 6 for work, I stay up all night long because thats my quiet time, I do what I like to do then,watch movies, get on the computer etc... then when I go to bed I can sleep cause he is getting up to go to work and I dont have to listen to his snoring keeping me awake when I want to go to sleep,lol

Relax, I think Terri was going to buy the other hard drive no matter what, because its larger and faster and was cheap money. I think you could have answered in 3 minutes she probably still would have bought the other one. I would have too but im trying to keep costs down right now, plus i didnt know about it, lol. :)

I dont really know how she could have gotten costs down any cheaper then something for free with all the disks that came with it and a new microsoft works 8.5 new in the package never opened, I just dont care for people who are impatient and expect others to sit right at their computers incase someone asks a question,this is free and it works, I am sure I could have sold it on craigslist for some money and made a little bit off it but here I am actually paying to have someone take it since I am paying for the shipping.

I just seen aarons on tv a few weeks ago, they got busted for putting software on thier laptops they rented out so they could watch people through the webcams from the store. They went to repo a laptop from someone who didnt make this LAST payment and the aarons guy showed up with proof as he called it, that the guy still had the laptop. It was pictures from the webcam, lol. Ya, well it turned out the guy didnt make the last payment, aarons just didnt tell the store i guess, and they are currently sueing aarons over the webcam issue. Aarons has already made two settlement offers, both were declined by the plantiff. The attorney general is looking into also filing charges. Aarons is in some hot water. Google it, tis a very interesting, and funny, story.
