I understand. I actually do not know what jadeite is. I had a friend in the 1980s I met and he was from Beijing a professor in a college back east. He gave us several and bracelets for all the girls in the family. So that is all I know about it.

Hmm OK maybe I will blow up the pic, jadeite is simply jade with a mixed formation compound in it but doesn't change the look (much) lol tyvm!!

Sorry I can not help you much more. Jewelers around here want to charge me an appraisal and I went into a Chinese jeweler once and wanted an appraisal on some of the other jade my friend had given me. They wanted to know where I got it from. When I told them a friend gave it to me, they would not even look at it!! It was as if I was offending my friend to try and sell it. "If a friend gave it to you, Keep it" was what they said. So I have just been sitting on this and some others I have already put on Listia with no complaints. But, I also understand that not everyone is familiar with the real and the unreal. Thanks for this conversation, Ann
