You are bidding on a brand new HDMI to RCA cable.This cable has never been used. This was purchased in the hopes that it would allow me to hook an Blu-Ray player to an older TV. After I ordered it I discovered that it doesn't not work unless you have a converter box to connect it to. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CONVERTER BOX IF YOU BID. I don't have enough old equipment left to make it worth buying the converter. Will work with video and audio components.

how does the converter box work

I believe that it allows you to hook up newer HD components like Blu-Ray players and surround sound systems to older TVs and Stereos. It is sort of like the digital converter box you need to watch cable on an old Tube TV.

This is just the cable to bring the digital signal to the converter. The converter does whatever it does after that to play on older TV's.

Like I said I don't have enough old equipment to justify purchasing a a converter. That is why I am getting rid of the cord.
