Description

The listing, Hoya carnosa (Wax plant or Porcelain Flower) 5 well-rooted starts has ended.

Hoya is an easily grown, long-lived houseplant. They are wonderful for hanging baskets and may also be trained to a trellis or other small framework.

They like bright, indirect light year-round. They can be grown outside, but are tropical plants and winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-12. I like to have mine in a hanging basket that goes outside in the summer to hang out of direct sun but get bright light and then inside for the cooler weather. The flowers are intricately detailed and shiny. They are so unique and perfect that people are surprised they're real.

Most of the photos are ones I found on the internet because I didn't have many of my own when it was blooming. But the last two photos of it flowering over a wall clock are from my plant. I repotted mine and took several cuttings to root this summer and it has not begun flowering again yet but I had taken just a couple photos of it when it was...

You will receive 5 well-rooted starts that are ready to be planted along with an info sheet on the plant. With enough light, they grow quickly and can get large. Cuttings root easily if you want to make more plants of your own. They really are one of the more perfect houseplants because they require very minimal care and once they get settled in, they are gorgeous when they bloom.

Just added two more photos. The last two now are the actual rooted cuttings that are being auctioned. There are 10 pieces shown and this auction is for 5 of these. As you can see they are very healthy and very well-rooted. All you need to do is pot them!

I only mail to Listia verified addresses. Transaction must be complete within 7 days of end or credits will be forfeited and item relisted. All Listia rules apply. I am paying for the packaging and mailing cost - free shipping.

sharonannp, I think you are thinking of the Carrion Plant/ Starfish Plant /Stapelia gigantea they are known to have a bad smell when in bloom that attracts flies.

These are really nice cuttings, I won one of her previous auctions!

These are the last of the rootings I will post until spring. The weather will be turning too cold (in my opinion) to ship live plants pretty soon so rather than chance it, this will be the last til spring...so don't let this one slip by you!!!

They are unique! And mom had hers in the same place for years where it started setting roots into the trim around the door lol but I think she gave it away when she moved out of state. Hope to win so I can enjoy it again:)

I have heard many times that this plant was known as a Finland plant. Not sure if that is where it came from. My husband is Finnish and he would love to have this.

No these have a nice smell. From Wikipedia "Hoya carnosa...It is a common house plant grown for its attractive waxy foliage, and sweetly scented flowers."
