They were made into jewelry pieces such as pendants, pins, stickpins, bracelets or charms.
This one has been fashioned from an 1891 Seated Liberty Silver Dime. It has been engraved with the initials JTS . It's been holed , indicating that it may have once been part of a necklace or charm bracelet.
