The listing, Old 1890s ZOO Visit GOOD LUCK Lots Fun Together cello pinback button pin animals monkey rooster has ended.

Very interesting celluloid pinback button likely sold as a souvenir at a Zoo in the late 1890s.

It has a filled metal back with "GOOD LUCK" and the front although slightly stained or foxed shows 3 animals, a bird, monkey and the words "WE'VE HAD LOTS OF FUN TOGETHER."

The red images and words are still visible and the reverse metal is clean and engraved words clear.

This is an uncommon souvenir of what would have been a zoo outing at an early zoo.

Unfortunately, no. The filled back and age suggests mid 1890s to very early 1900s, however, searches failed to yield any similar pinback buttons as zoo memorabilia. I would only guess that it would have been a larger city zoo, but other than that, unless ZooHistorica or other sites can identify it, it remains a mystery.

Don't get me wrong, I have no reason to think it is not from a zoo. However, considering the wording, I wonder if it could have been a product of some type of youth summer camp? Regardless, it is a very interesting and collectible piece.
