Ah ok. I understand what you mean. I am guessing your computer is a Low Profile based which means when you go to plug it can't be screwed down. You may want to consider looking for a Low Profile Wired Network Card. If you need more advice send me a message and I will offer my services as an experienced Technician. As a note: this may work for XP and below but it should install for Vista/7 as well.

the metal on the back is to long. I don't think i can change it. It needs tobe shorter. On my big computer the lighting hit my modem which also took out my card to get on the internet. I was kind of hoping that this would fix the problem, but I think it is the wrong card. I thinking of justtaking my computer somewhere and having someone look at it.

ok. Well I was right the metal piece is what told me whether it's a Low Profile or Regular Network Card. A Low Profile Network Card would be perfect for your computer because the Low Profile means the Metal piece is Shorter.than the one you have. Here is a website with Cheap Low Profile Network Cards if you don't want to take it to someone: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=esqb,ratio%3D0,depth%3D0&cp=15&gs_id=1n&xhr=t&q=low+profile+network+card&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1595&bih=762&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=12233180053295585701&sa=X&ei=CWopTpLOFoHrgQeoouiRCw&sqi=2&ved=0CCoQ8wIwAA
