hi my chi is 7 months old weighs 8 lbs and is just over 12inch long would she fit in this for awhile of just a few months

Well from what I am reading about chi dogs they usally only get around 15in long and around 10 pounds, I would say your chi dog will probably never out grow it, but I am guessing Since I don't know what your dog looks like. The carry is pretty big and very roomy.

He is a good size Chi I didn't realize they could weigh that much, it doesn't tell you that on line when I looked it up, then again can't put stock in everything you read on the internet can you lol.

Well his parent's were tiny and my neighbor got him to mate with her toy Chihuahua but he kept growing and I bought him when they started locking him in the basement because like all puppies do he was chewing on everything, best $200.00 I ever spent. Hi! Is that an opening for a dog to stick it's head out? (picture 1) If so, can it be securely closed? Also, do you have a smoke free home? Thanks so much for your time. I am wanting this for my cat and I am just trying to make sure it would be safe for her.

That is an opening for the dog to stick his head out no it cannot be closed, most people who use these have trained babies who just love to be carried around, and yes it is a smoke free home.
