James - you might want to double-check that shipping cost. If sent by USPS, this would be an oversize item (hence cost more to ship.) It's my experience that UPS (United Parcel Service) does a more secure job of handling something this size and they automatically insure the first $100 of declared value without charging a separate fee for the insurace.
