The listing, Sterling Silver Star Sapphire Heart Necklace has ended.

My rummaging in my jewelry box has brought out this glistening sterling silver (marked on the clasp and the back of the heart) star sapphire necklace! The star sapphire is oval shaped and rests in the middle of the sterling heart. The strong, but dainty chain is 16 inches long and a perfect length for summer wear! The star sapphire is the September birthstone of those who share the Taurus sign. In medieval Christian times, the three intersecting bands that form the star represented the virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity. It is truly a very pretty necklace--good luck and happy bidding!

Another Listian has brought this to my attention---I sincerely hope that those who have already bid, haven't been led "astray" While the blue sapphire is the birthstone of September, it is for only those who were born between Aug. 23 and Sept. 22 according to our daily newspaper here in Akron, Ohio! Also, it is NOT the Taurus sign, but "Virgo" for those of you who know a lot about astrology (again, according to my hometown newspaper). The original info came from a website which (now I know) can't be trusted!.Thank you so much dnd4ever for pointing that out to me--you have great auctions, too!

This necklace is beautiful! I'm a little confused, my birthday is September 29th and I have always thought I'm a Libra and the birthstone is Sapphire?

Thank you! Yes, you are a Libra :0) This is a blue STAR sapphire---as far as I have read, all sapphires are September's birthstone. I tried to copy Wikepedia's description of the blue star sapphire, but couldn't do. (Please refer to their description if needed). The blue star sapphire has what appears to be a "star" that moves as you move the item that has the stone. It is very different than a sapphire that isn't a "star sapphire". Wow, I am learning a lot---did you know that sapphires can come in almost any color including colorless? Thank you for asking!
