here is a great emergency CB radio has the 40 channels, you will need an antena to use this i used my car antena to use it, very nice it has two antena ports for either a car style or screw in handheld radio type, it comes with a 12 volt ac adapter so you can plug it in a wall, unfortunatly i dont have a cigarette lighter adapter to include but they can be found easily online or elsewhere

yeah it looks like bnc, and no it does not operate on batteries, you can either either use the provided plug or get a cigarette lighter power cord and plug into a battery that way

This will be really cool to have because my dad is a truck driver. I'd be able to ask him what channel he has in his truck when he is out driving and I would be able to pick him up and talk to him. Also when he goes on overnight trips and stay in a hotel I would be able to talk to him from the hotel on the radio while he's in his truck. Sometimes he goes to Buffalo Rochester and even down into Pennsylvania. He has gone up in to Canada but not very far because I don't think he has a passport and I don't think they're allowed to go over the border.but it would be very cool to have. Hope I win

Yeah I also found out if you have really bad weather really bad signal if you have good weather you get a good signal. This antenna is about three months old I got it back in September. At my local RadioShack.
