The listing, California Original Pottery Fish Dish Vintage Trinket Holder or Ashtray USA 562 White has ended.

This is a great piece
It is California pottery..I'm guessing from the 60's or 70's
In perfect condition.no chips, cracks or crazing
The color is white
I don't know what its intended purpose was--could have been an ashtray.
Looking at it I can see that it would also make a nice soap dish or trinket dish
It measures about 6 1/2" across and is almost as wide
It kind of reminds me of Mr. Limpet!

Questions & Comments

I am thinking because it is fish shaped. Maybe it is a sauce dish for sea food. Maybe? It is nice. Already a fan & watching.

Maybe..you could use it for that. There is a lot of fish-themed California pottery. Fish were popular for a time. We had fish art in our bathrooms, in our kitchens, etc. The bathroom wall fish were made of chalk which is very collectible and resin.
