This auction is for 2 volumes of one story Mildrington The Barrister from 1863. Originally in a Dover, England library for lending, the library was called the ODD FELLOWS Library. Each volume has a sticker(still in tact!) of the library rules for lending. These are original books!
Mildrington The Barrister is a Romance published by Saunders, Otley & Co in Hanover Square, London. It is the Romance of Two Syrens.
Condition of the books. Complete, yellowed and book page edges a bit light brown and very small amount of tatter. No tears except the lining page shown in picture 3. The inside lining pages front & back are dark brown. No inscriptions are inside nor any writing I have found. The bindings are fairly tight for the age of 1863. Appears Volume 1 was read more than Volume 2, just by condition. I found no obviously loose pages The headband is fully present on both books but Vol 1 has a 1-1/2 inch torn piece. It needs to be glued or repaired. Hinges on both are good. All 8 corners have wear from age and use. Front & back covers present and in good condition for age. If I've left out anything, please ask.
