On Listia it is "Progressive Bidding" so the highest bid that shows will just be enough to out-bid the last highest bid...that way no one knows what you have bid until they out-bid you...then they will have the highest bid...just over the amount of your highest bid. So if you bid 10,000 and the last person's high bid was 5,212...then your highest bid will show up at 5,213...etc. You never want anyone to know what you have bid because then they will know what to bid to out-bid you and win!
I hope this makes sense to you! It seems complicated but is really simple.

After my bills are paid and I buy household items and food I'm normally broke I can't even afford to get myself a decent pair of shoes I am currently wearing a pair of cheap slipper shoes with holes in the bottoms

I know...I can't even buy houshold items and I don't qualify for food stamps! I am on disability so I live on about $850. a month. God always takes care of me!
