Questions & Comments
Very cool item. My grandfather was a mason, he died almost 20 years ago, but have recently come into possession of some of his things. I've been wearing his ring since I found it and I love it. I don't believe it is insulting to do so. It's just a way to remember him, regardless of one might feel about masons.
u DO KNOW you are not or should not be wearing a masonic ring unless you are indeed a Freemason. It's a Insult, That is a right you have to earn to bare the ring..
And by you saying you have been searching everywhere for one like this, makes me think your not a traveling man or you would know where to get your self a Masonic ring.
I also have a pair of cufflinks that I got on here recently. They would go with this very well. They also have the compass and are set on an onyx stone like this ring. I won them because I thought they were cool, but I never dress up and don't really need them. If anybody would be interested in them I can send you pics. They would certainly make a great companion piece to this ring.
greetings BROTHERS from Jasper Lodge #98 F.& A.M. ridgeLand SC..
blessing's to all of my fellow Travailing Men /G\
and @ DAYDREAMCASTER- COLOR has nothing to do with being a Freemason.
It's about your Character, morals ,honor, loyalty and a want for seeking knowledge etc everything that makes it so beautiful..
I am a white man, But i know many brothers who are of a different race. That shows you do not know what you are speaking of eaither, so dont be so fast to judge the other young man, i just was letting him know ..
The day you are able to put on the ring and bear it with honor because you earned it, is a beautiful day a special day you will never forget.
ANY one can buy one and just put it on, but its not hard to spot a real from just someone wearing it cause it looks cool.
I hope to see this go to a fellow brother. Blessings family.
I know I _should_ wait but the Masonic ring is the one heirloom piece of jewelry that's been lost amongst my uncle & some cousins, personally I'd keep it as a reminder of the Shriners and 33rd in my family & that I could achieve that too. I happen to have signed for another boy to get into DeMolay where he has the ring from his uncle & wears it daily even though he's only 16, while I have another brother whom became a MM before joining DeMolay. Everyone has a path for themselves as well as motivation to keep them on that track & I personally feel that a ring to own as beautiful as this one would be my motivation. I'm sorry if that might offend any of you older gents who've acquired your rings after being raised
@Rromeo, U should honestly wait to you are old enough and know you are about to make your rise before getting one. I'm always glade to see young men interested in DeMolay its a good stepping stone . I wish you the best my friend.
Your Uncle was a 33rd degree? Thats really great. Not just any can make it there.
Doing degree work and getting to the 33rd is different. You will learn in time, its better to let it all be new to you as you go, before i did allot of reading and studying and i knew what to expect allot from a few degree's which takes away the greatness of the moment your doing it. At least IMO. Would you fellow brother's agree?
Watching. My Great Uncle was a 33rd and my grandma told me that his first MM ring was similar to this one. I may only be a DeMolay at the moment but I can definitely try to win this ring...I know I'll petition once I majority out in 2 years, great auction
That is great to hear!! Shriners are such amazing men, All they do for kids and all. Its so noble. My grandma was a Star also, I forgot where but i was watching for Halloween on T.V. the shriners every year in 1 state put together a great haunted house. We have a parade every year and they always drive their little carts through with their Shriner hats on, I love it..
Everything about Freemasonry and the different rites you can choose to go into is a beautiful thing. My Grandfather was actually Invited to the 33rd degree, but he passed before making it to the place he had to go.
But u may have heard they saying "All is revealed at the 33rd degree" I plan on making it a lifetime Journey . I am young i will just be turning 28 on the 11th..
But i love to read, read read.. Nothing is better than knowledge, wisdom and understanding..
MaryJ i have a really neat masonic ring i got a while back, The whole ring is the Level and compass nothing else, U know the Tools the G goes in between. Its very neat, but not something you would wanna wear daily like a beautiful one such as this!
I bet you spent a pretty penny on his Gold ring when he became a MM.. They get way up there!
If you dont mind my asking Mary, Have you ever though of becoming a Star? If you know what i mean..Im sure u do.. Tell your Husband Greetings from the brothers at lodge #98 4th district.
Yes, Started then my mom moved in with us and all my attentions are on her. Jim does enough for the both of us. He always has to search out the Temples when we go on vacation. Just finished with the Shriners Circus. The Children's Hospital is here in Shreveport. He keeps very busy and it keeps him young. lol
