Cord should slide into coil end easily with only a small amount that's space between the surface of the cord and the inside of the coil end. Measure out your cord trim both ends with side cutters to make them flat or flush cuts. Apply your glue and slide on the first coil end. Once the glue is dry using a narrow tipped chain nose pliers slowly squeeze down on the very first coil on the coil end. This Crimps the coil and and helps it to keep it from falling off
