The listing, Cancer Awareness Bracelet of your choice, or other cause! has ended.

HI everyone! I have been gone for awhile because sadly my Mom died. She was a 14 year survivor of pancreatic & breast cancer, an amazing woman and my hero! Sadly a surgeon made a mistake that cost her her life. In honor of her, I would like to welcome myself back to Listia auctioning off 1 of her wonderful bracelets. I can make the winner any choice or cause. The most popular is a "multi" which is all colors & represents all cancer in general. I can mix colors also. If it's breast & pancreas, the bracelet would be pink & purple. The beads are cat's eye & in between each colored bead are 2 sterling silver beads. Also complete with a sterling silver ribbon. I have also expanded into other causes ranging from infertility/loss of sister/bro/daughter/son..diabetes/suicide/mental illness/military support/COPD. etc. Cancers range from Bone/childhood cancer/breast/lung/uterine, etc.
*please note* at the moment I do not have red or burgundy beads, I am broke & can't afford right now to replenish this stock. I will list below the cancer & causes that require red/burgundy beads, I apologize.
I hope everyone likes my mom's creation, she was incredibly proud of them and wore her's proudly! I thought this would be a good auction and I hope you agree. I know she is smiling down on me continuing this in honor of her. If you have any questions at all, please ask! I will provide a list tomorrow of causes & colors, thank you!!
- free shipping in U.S.
- pic above is multi & breast cancer
I will start the bid at 72, the month and day she was born <3

I am so very sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. My condolences are with you and yours. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. These are beautiful. I have one Aunt who is a 6 year survivor of breast cancer, and another (her sister) that was diagnosed just a few months ago. My Father suffers from diabetes and my ex-husband is a 2 time Iraqi war veteran and suffers from PTSD. I will be watching this auction. I would love to have a bracelet made by you for these two causes. Thank you so much for your kindness. May God bless you and your family.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I still can't believe that my Mom is gone, it breaks my heart every single day. She was such a fighter, never complaining even after all that she went through, she was just happy to be alive.
I am sorry to hear of your family's health as well. But very happy to hear your Aunt is a 6 year survivor! My Dad also has Diabetes, it can be a very scary thing.
Good Luck to you if you bid, I'm so happy that you like the bracelets, if they are made for you, or to give to a family member, know they are made with love. My Mom was so proud of these and I really am honored to keep it going in her memory. If you would like to purchase any you are more than welcome to send me a message. Hope you had a great weekend

Awesome Jen, so glad you like them. I don't have a picture of the car mirror hangers, because there are none made, but they are beautiful! I sent you a message, thank you! It's such a bitter sweet feeling keeping this going in honor of my Mom. She was so so proud of them and put love and caring into every single one she made. She wore her's everyday and drove around with a car mirror hanger too. I remember when she first started these, years ago, we would sit in the kitchen together, making them. And when she first started we had alot of fun figuring out what she wanted to do & how to make them. She was so happy when people started buying them. I miss her so much

I did remind your dad and he is not going anywhere for a long time! Sometimes he does get frustrated at me or of doing the right things, but mostly he does remember you, Juliana, Stormy & Joey, the ones he really loves!

Definitely always in our hearts and watching over us! It doesn't seem like it's been that long, I always felt so much sympathy for your pain, but never fully understood it until I was there myself. I don't think it matters how old you are, a parent is a parent and we always need them! Love you and please remind my Dad he needs to stay here with us for double the time he has planned :)

This is truly an amazing auction. I'm another Legend dropping in to show my support, love, and my shoulder. I think it's amazing that you are following in your mothers footsteps and continuing her work. I offer my condolences and my heartfelt prayers to you and your family during a very difficult time.

I lost my mother 10 yrs ago to hepatitis. It was a long and terrible journey that my family went through. She was the glue that held everything together. We almost lost her twice due to negligence on a doctors part, by sending in a trainee that ended up collapsing her lungs, and another time due to a pharmacist giving her an MUCH MUCH higher (over 2000 grams more four times a day!) of a prescription she was taking. So,I can almost relate to your surgeon situation. Im sorry that you and your family, and her, had to experience that.

I would NEVER in my life ask you to take a part a bracelet that she made, in order to get the red beads. Maybe we could work something different out if I were to win =)

Love, and many many prayers, from a Legend,
Becca

Hi Becca, thank you very much. I am sorry you lost your Mom as well :( Her road was also long. How terrible that your Mom went through that! I know that people need to learn and in order to learn they need to 'do' but mistakes are very easy to make and when it's someone's life it's just such a shame. This surgeon that my mom had was the BEST, blah blah blah and he without a doubt killed her. We never saw his face again and the hospital was horrible to us. They lied to us right up until the end. Well, Hepatitis is red & yellow so I will look and see what I have & I will let you know! And I completely agree, my Mom was also the glue that held us together in my family too, nothing at all feels the same since she died on Feb 19th, nothing. I still pretend she is just busy and doesn't have time to call or see me, we used to talk on the phone every day and it's just such an empty feeling. That's probably not the most healthy way of dealing with it but I don't know how else to handle it.
I've seen a ton of auctions that say Legend in the title and read in some comments Legend members stopping by others auctions, I think that is awesome to have a bunch of supportive friends on here! I know that Vinnie is a great member on this site & I fanned him long ago. I messaged him for a little advice with this auction and he told me I could put my link on all of his auctions, things and people like him, you , jen and the other very nice people is why I'm happy I came back to Listia, starting with this auction in memory of my Mom! Thank you Becca, ((hugs)) I will let you know if I have beads for the bracelet asap

Hi, I'm stopping by and bidding. I am so sorry for your loss and I understand what you are going through. My beloved mom passed away from breast cancer 11 years ago. She always had cyst and just had them drained. That is where the first tumor was found. They found another type of breast cancer in the other breast. She had a double mastectomy. She battled for almost 5 years and then it spread to her bones and she died. I also have lupus and have been struggling the last few weeks. It has gone after my heart this time. So any colors would be fine if I win. I have only been a part of the legends for a few months but they are such a great group of people who make you feel welcome and willing to help anyone. I never buy things for my self on here but to give to others. I would also be interested in buying a few bracelets to give to my friends and family. They all support the Lupus cause as well as breast cancer. I know there are lots of bead auctions. If you find any with the colors you need I would be happy to bid and send them to you. I would love one to hang in my car so hopefully you will list one to bid on. Keep your mom's work together. You can email me with prices and I would love to order some bracelets and the car one. I am so happy Vinnie told us about your auction and I have my bid in. Sorry Vinnie I outbid you but you know I luv you tons. My mom and your mom are watching over us and are near. Can't say you ever get over the loss but it does get easier. Good luck and I am hoping I win this one. <3 Jen

Oh, I'm so sorry you lost your Mom. I have never in my life been through this type of pain! My mom's breast cancer was also bi-lateral. The suffering is terrible, that is the only positive thing we could take from these losses, our loved one is no longer suffering. I am sorry you're having a hard time with Lupus. I worked with a very nice lady a few years ago that had it and I know she was in a great deal of pain many days. I am so glad you have friends to support you and show they care for you. Support is a wonderful thing! My mom was very involved with the cancer community & that's how she came up with the bracelet idea. She did a lot of cancer walks and craft shows, she had many friends to come and support her. I hope that you are able to find things to relieve some of the pain. I was in a car accident years ago & had back surgery at age 22 for herniated disc, long story short, I have pain every single second of every single day, and it can really get the best of you.
Thank you very much for sharing some of your life with me and thank you for stopping by to comment & place a bid. And thank you for being such a nice person. I will gladly send you a message Jen, thank you so very much! ((hugs))

Do you happen to know the colors for Degenerative Disc Disease?
Jul 21st, 2011 at 10:35:02 AM PDT by
Original
I have Degenerative Disc Disease : / I researched this for about 30 minutes trying to find out. It seems there is no official color to represent or support it. I did learn that healthy disc color is White (hydrated disc) and when you have degenerative disc disease it is Black (desiccation) Black represents moderate to severe degenerative disc disease. So we could do Black if you want?

This is a great listing. Don't be too worried if you don't get a lot of bids right away, as most people interested will click the "watch" button and bid in the last few hours so that they don't tie up all their credits in case they wouldn't win. I'm SO sorry for the loss of your mother. For your own sake, don't take apart her work...It would be very emotionally hurtful to you, and I hope that people will have the decency not to ask you to do that.

Thank you :) And you're right, it would hurt me A LOT to take apart her work. I will hope to sell some with the supplies I have and then have the money to purchase more later. Thank you for your kind words!

Also, If winner chooses a 'Multi' I will probably change the order of the beads around so it is a little more flattering color order.

Thank you for the bids! I was beginning to get a little worried, so thank you! If anyone has any questions, please let me know :) If you just like the colors and just want a bracelet without a ribbon, I can do that as well. Any colors winner would like, any combination or single color as well.

I also have car mirror hangers! They are about the size of a necklace and have a much larger ribbon. They are so cute hanging from a rear view mirror! If anyone would be interested in one and this auction goes well, maybe I'll list one or anyone could message me as well! Hope everyone has a great night

I wanted to update causes that sadly I will not be able to make at this time. I do not have the money to buy Red or Burgundy beads, Right now I only have what my Mom had in her stock. Unfortunately, I do not have the money for any thing else yet unless I sell some bracelets. I am sad because I know at some point in order to make more bracelets I might have to take apart some less popular bracelets to use the beads & ribbons from them. She used to do craft shows and had some pre-made to sell there. However, I don't have to do that just yet and I'm glad because I can't bring myself to take apart her work. The bracelet to the winner will either be made by myself or one my mom had made, depending on winner's choice. There is love is every single bracelet!

Even if you just think it's pretty and like the colors, please bid :)

Sorry I was getting off track...at this time I will not be able to fulfill:

Head & Neck - Red/Burgundy & White
Multiple Myeloma - Red
Substance Abuse - Red
Heart Disease - Red
Hepatitis - Red & Yellow
HIV/AIDS - Red
Meningitis - Burgundy
--Support the troops/Military/911 colors could be red/white/blue...but alternate color is yellow :) I do have 1 red white & blue bracelet available though

If someone absolutely needs a bracelet with the color red or burgundy I can look through everything & double check if one is already pre made. I will update tomorrow when I look through everything.

Thank you to everyone that looks, likes, comments or bids! Also if anyone wants me to list all the cancer colors and other causes & colors, please let me know!

Thank you so much, you've really made my night. The way my mom lost her life is so tragic and unexpected. She was such a fighter and for her to not be able to fight in the end, cuts deep. I know how much she loved these bracelets and the joy she had in making and selling them and even giving some away here and there to people battling cancer. ALSO, partial proceeds go to cancer research. I wanted to keep this going for her and thought it would be a good idea to add in other causes for the many things people go through also.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words

If there is any other cause that you would like, please let me know!

* Please note: Right now I do not have any Red or Burgundy beads until I can afford to purchase them.

---SIZING---
*** The bracelets are made in different sizes. They are stretchy bracelets. The most common size is 7 inches or 7.5

*** I can also make them in child's sizes! *** Most sizes range from 6 (being small...child's size would be smaller) to 8.5 (being larger) I can also make larger than that id needed. If you have an average size wrist I would go with 7 or 7.5 inches. You don't want it to be tight but you also don't want it falling off. If anyone has any questions please let me know
