Description

The listing, NINTENDO NES CONSOLE - 2 Controllers, hook-up cords, & TMNT 2 Arcade (New 72-Pin Connector) has ended.

The original Nintendo Entertainment System

This auction includes these items:
Nintendo Console
Two Controllers
A/V & Power cords
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 The Arcade

Everything is original Nintendo products. The only thing not original is the new 72-Pin Connector which I personally installed. I also disabled the lock-out chip which is the cause of the dreaded blue screen syndrome. Those two actions added decades to this systems lifespan.

Since installing the Pin Connector I've mainly been using the console for testing games for the past six months. And I have only inserted game cartridges with cleaned and polished pins. The console does show minor wear due to age, but still looks really good. Both controllers also show some age wear, with some dings and scuffs. But both controllers were fully tested and are working properly.

Since the 72-Pin Connector is new, the games are a very tight fit when inserting. Rarely the cartridge might need a light shift to the left or right while inserted if 100% start up does not occur. But overall, the system runs amazingly.

Thank so much for the info!

No problem. Also if it feels like there is more action when inserted game is able to shift to the left or right, that's normal. It's because the new connector is made in China and are slightly wider than the original connector.
But that helps greatly when the game happens to give lines or pixels on start up, all that needs to be done is a slight shift of the cartridge to the left or right. The picture will become clear with no problem.

NO BLOWING! Do not blow into the cartridge or the system. That is a myth. All that does is create moisture, which in time will become rust. A bit of lint will not disrupt the connection. If lint removal is needed try to only use a keyboard cleaner spray or a thin cotton swab will also work fine.

Hello collectortrev! You always have super cool auctions. Keep them coming! Btw, when the new 72 pin was put in, are the games a little harder to put in?

Yes, it becomes a tighter fit when inserting cartridge. But that's a good thing. It's the pins becoming loose fitting is what the original problem would be. Nintendo was dumb, and made it to where you had to press down the cartridge to make connection and after hundreds and thousands of times it just wears out completely.
The tight fit means it will last really long.

Noooooo! The top loader is sacrilege. I refuse to own one.

Not the Retron, the one that Nintendo released back in the 90's. It's really how they should have been made. Side loading with springs is what wore out the pin connector in the first place. The original is always great to have, but I get the original systems so often I'd rather have fun refurbishing then listing them here for all of you. And I'll play the sacrilege system.

hi is it compatible to newer tv"s? the old cable only works on the tube tvs right?
Nov 11th, 2014 at 7:22:29 PM PST by
Original
There are side ports for Yellow and red/white (two wires, either red or white) A/V hook-ups, that is compatible with newer TV's. What doesn't work with new TV's is the zapper light gun. If you plan on getting a zapper, you will need to use an old tube TV since that's the only monitor that will work with the light response technology.

Other than the zapper, it will be compatible using an A/V cable which is not included in this auction. But they are commonly found, and almost every household has a spare from some old DVD player or whatnot.

Yeah, I wasn't talking about a Retron. I'm talking about the post SNES NES. I never liked that thing.

Well besides the fact that your question violates Listia polices, I wouldn't do that to the loyal Listia members who are bidding and expect to win. For a purchase, go to FEEbay. This site is for credits only.

Then you make sure that you completed address verification, so it can be shipped to you. Without members verifying the address, sellers do not have Listia protection.

And if you plan on listing something, make sure you are prepared to pay the proper shipping. Once you get the hang of everything, there is a lot of cool stuff to be had on this site.

This was my tester console, I'm expecting the top loader version (NES 2) in the mail. So I'll just use that one from now on.

I was just joking. I've won stuff from you before, and you were classy, and your games are always in better than new condition. They certainly never smell bad. I didn't think people from California smoked. Sorry about that.
