Im looking for a replacement wedding ring. somehow my gold plated wedding band got scratches on the inside and its giving me problems! im allergic to whatever metal is under the gold.

I also have allergies to plated jewelry! The most common reason for it is because most plated jewelry has a base metal of Nickel - Nickel causes skin irritation in a large number of people because it reacts easily to the PH chemical levels in the body, regardless of whether it's plated or not. I would advise you to have a Nickel allergy test done at a doctor's office to be certain, but I'd bet money that's what it is!

Yes, thats it..I think it's nickel. I cant wear most earings because of that either. I need to wear precious metals so my ears wont get irritated. such a pain.
