It's a magnetic closure. And you squeeze the sides to open it further

My apologies.... it does not have a magnetic closure. It's metal and when you squeeze it, it opens and then snaps back when you let go. I used it for my smart phone and dropped it many times and it never damaged my phone or caused it to fall out. I even turned over and shook it with medium force and it stayed shut. You can use it for just about anything. Hope this helps! :)
