This wartime one cent coin, was a variety the penny which was struck in steel do to wartime shortages of copper. 99% steel with a thin layer of zinc. This coin is magnetic and 13% lighter than a traditional penny. The S on this coin indicates it was minted in San Francisco. After the war, the mint collected large numbers of these cents and destroyed them. As with all my listings, this item starts with an opening bid of one credit and shipping is free.
