The original pk came w/200 seeds. I planted a lot of them, and had great success w/them sprouting, but the GA heat & bugs killed them because I planted them too late. The pk says "Purple of Sicily".

If you plant them in time, they will, lol!!! I got mine in later than I should have. I still have a few outside the bugs/deer/rabbits/birds didn't eat.

They germinate best slightly under 70*, but will germinate as low as 50*. It's best to start them in the Fall here in GA, and I started them in late spring this yr. OOPS. Lesson learned. :)

Since I don't use pesticides, they were like open season to the bluebirds while they were sprouting in seed cups on my porch, and once I planted those that were left, bugs & deer/rabbits got more of them.

Happy Holidays to you too-- in Ga, they're best started in the Fall, generally. Even better if you can keep them inside under a grow light, but they'll usually survive outside as long as their sprouts are big enough by the time it snows or a hard freeze occurs. The ones I have outside now made it through this week's freeze quite well-- still no sign of heads yet, but hoping in a coupla months I'll have some. :)

OMGoodness!!! I hope that the Law throws the BOOK at him in ANIMAL CRUELTY charges. on behalf of the POOR DOG!!! I HOPE HE GOES TO JAIL!!! Suffice it to say, that I don't have a kind word for someone that would be so cruel to a poor, helpless animal like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have two cats and a dog; and, would NEVER treat one like that!!!!!!! That is horrible. I feel sooooooooo sorry for the dog; and really, I'm NOT a dog person, although, I DO get along well with them.
