Seeds collected from my plants, MATURE RIPE RED pods.
Black Pearl is a hybrid. I have been able to grow it fairly true from seeds. Be aware that growing it from seed means it is no longer truly a "Black Pearl". It's STILL a beautiful plant.
See the lovely ornamental contrast? Foliage seems to grow darker w/ more sun! Fruit can be eaten. They are small & hot! Info below is regarding the true "Black Pearl" chili.
New Ornamental Pepper Wins Prestigious Award
1 look at 'Black Pearl' & it is easy to see why it won this award. Compact, upright plants bear distinctive semi-glossy, deep purple to black leaves, complemented w/ scores of shiny round black-purple "pearls" of fruit that mature to bright red. 'Black Pearl' performs well as either a bedding or pot plant. It offers a vibrant accent to home gardens throughout the summer and fall seasons.
It performs exceptionally well in containers & deserves to be featured as the centerpiece.

Beware home collected seeds from hybrid plants. They're no longer the same variety. Ask questions. Research >reliable< sources.
Beware! "GREEN" bell peppers are UNRIPE bell peppers & aren't likely to provide VIABLE seeds. Very few varieties ripen to green. Same for GREEN Jalapeno & most other pepper varieties. It only take minutes to check the variety & discover the color of the RIPE pepper.
Beware "Bonsai" seeds are misleading! http://www.bonsai4me.com/Basics/Basics_Seeds.html
