Description

The listing, Antique McCall pattern for 10 year old child has ended.

This darling pattern is for a "Child's Sack apron" for 10 year old girls. Because the pattern pieces are unprinted, I'm guessing this is before the year 1920 which is when the McCall pattern company started making printed patterns. This pattern is complete with all pieces and are the unprinted type. They have holes punched in them for all your match up points and the directions are on the back of the envelope. Can be made apron style or dress style. Lovely graphics on the envelope! Envelope looks to have been taped with invisible tape. Pattern is complete with no missing pieces! Lovely piece of history!

Shipping to USA addresses only.

Is there a measurement given for the age appropriate size? Age 10 can be awfully different from child to child. Thanks.

Also, do you have any vintage, loose ladie's gown patterns..L-XL, or men;s sleep shirts? Thank you?

This is darling! Has the pattern been cut?

McCall patterns were all factory cut with dies before the 20's. The machine they used also punched a series of holes and perforations to identify each piece and to show match up points. So yes.....the pattern was cut at the factory. There's a link in the auction description that has some nice details on the history of patterns from the time they were factory cut and when they first became printed tissue (the kind that the home seamstress would cut out herself).

Thanks for the answer. What if meant was: has it been used? Are there pin holes in the pattern pieces?

From what I can see, there are....but.....they are so very tiny that I almost couldn't see them. I did not look at all the pieces because I don't want to have to handle them too much due to their age...but the pieces that I did look at had very small pin holes....like they were pinned using silk pins (narrowest shafts).

Also, what is the date on the pattern? Again, thanks.

Most patterns by McCall were not dated before 1919, so since there is no date on this pattern, it is pre-1919. Also, the only measurements given are the yardage needed. Size measurements were obtained from a catalog in the mercantile when ordering the pattern....so, sorry, can't help you with that since I don't have the catalog from that era (wishing I did, though!) And in answer to your other question...sorry, don't have any vintage loose lady's gowns or men's sleep shirts. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the url site. I am surprised that no copyright date was on the pattern. This legal issue was very stringently followed in that time.
