The listing, Ipod nano 3rd Generation 8gb *Read description* has ended.
Ipod nano 3rd generation 8gb. In fairly decent condition, it will not take charge due to battery problems. Batteries arent expensive to get. But i recently got a new ipod. It is a charcoal color. Thank you, and if you have any questions or comments just get at me and i will reply soon..
Questions & Comments
Seriously, are you reading the ad or his comments Chelsea? Do you see where he says it wont come on, several times? Im not sure how you could miss it, so why are you asking how long it holds a charge? I guess you'll find out when you bid and win and get it in the mail, so dont be surprised.
This is a 4th gen, not a 2nd or a 3rd or a 5th, its a FOURTH GEN. As far as fixing this, Lewis is partly right. Replacing a battery is somewhat easy in SOME ipod models, and in others its difficult. No matter what model you have, he is right that you need the exact correct tools. You cant just wing it, or use regular screwdrivers or torx wrenches. Its like changing a blackberry case, you have to have the correct tools or dont even try. Now if your 100% positive the battery is the issue, then it seems like a straightforward repair once you get the DIY kit with the replacement battery. The thing that ipods are notorious for is trouble diagnosing the problem that is keeping it from working correctly. On ipod Touches and Iphones, this is alot easier, especially if you can get them to come on at least, as they usually give you some type of error code/message, which you can then look up on Google, and follow the appropriate procedure for repair. In this case, the exact cause of the problem is unknown. It is assumed its a battery, but it could be several other issues. This would be a great project for someone who has either repaired this same issue already, or has one of these as parts that they can scrap from and mess with. Otherwise your guessing. The good news is, if this issue happened to this seller, it has happned to others, so you should be able to Google it and at least come up with a ballpark idea of whats wrong, and start with the most likely and work your way down. Hopefully it doesnt cost more then the items worth to fix and your right on the first diagnosis and repair attempt. I may or may not give it a shot, but im looking for a 5th gen to take pics with.
im not exactly sure but theyre not too expensive. you might be able to find one on ebay. if youre good enough with electronics you might be able to take one out of some other ipod or mp3 player
Um.. Im not really sure what your getting to. But the screen shut off and it wont come back on. Im pretty sure its something wrong with the internal battery, but some people know how to fix them. But i dont.
Yeah there fairly easy to replace but you need the correct tools. Have not kept track of anything past the 30 gb video but i know you need the correct tools for it. The battery is sealed in the unit with a magnetic lock type set up and you need those tools to disengage battery unit seals BatterDepot.com has it listed for 16.99 DIY kit that has tools and battery. But im pretty sure this is a 2nd G nano due to its shape.
