Winter hardy to USDA Zones 9-11 where it is grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Drought tolerant once established. Other zones it can be grown in a pot, or because it is such a quick grower, grown as a annual. In the latter, I would start seeds soon to get a jump on growth. It will transplant nicely once spring comes, and you will get both flowers and pods in fall.
