These two sweaters are both made from Alpaca! They've been in storage and this year, they just don't fit any longer. Both are woman's size M. The pink has a tie and you can wear it over a lighter weight top. The black is a turtleneck and very plush.

Good morning all! I have been searching for tips on washing alpaca sweaters and fibers. The are several different sites to see and they DO tell how to hand wash.

It's dry clean only. I have hand washed my sweaters in the past.

There is a smoker in the house. These HAVE been stored in plastic and I don't smell any smoke on them.

Alpaca is a fiber that is 5 times warmer than wool, it contains no lanolin so it's not itchy like wool! It's luxurious to wear and awesome to knit with! Thank you for stopping to look!

And alpacas are the cutest things ever! !! Lol just had to say. :) If I ever get a plot of land, definitely getting a couple alpacas! Mom taught me how to brush, wash, etc wool when I was a kid, she'd knit all sorts of items, but I don't do well with wool nor cashmere (lol lucky me, I guess??). It's a really cool process from shearing to the end product, definitely worth taking care of. :)

I used to work at the local alpaca ranch. They are amazing animals and the fiber is plush. I don't like to knit with anything but Alpaca! Thanks for commenting!!

Lucky you! !! We only had llamas in our part of the country, lol, they weren't too fond of us Lil kids. ;) In fell in love with alpacas after a country fair, then watching some documentaries on them. They're really cool animals :)
