Description
The listing, Confederate Rose(Hibiscus-color changing) has ended.
Confederate Rose(hibiscus) Best grown in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 5 to 9, the confederate rose (Hibiscus mutabilis) features large, showy flowers that start off white but quickly change to deep pink or reddish pink, with a blueish cast near the end of their bloom cycle. Especially enchanting is the fact that these cycles happen on different parts of the large bush simultaneously, so that the plant appears to feature multi-colored blooms. 20+ seed 40+ seed if GIN is used and i will send 20+mystery seed:)
Questions & Comments
I've never heard if these but I am intrigued. I have looked up my zone on many different occasions but I swear it seems to change. (Or I'm just getting old and can't remember anything). In any case I live in the High Desert in California. Actually in Victorville. Hot in the summer (and windy) cold (can snow) in the winter. Roses seem to do well here as long as you keep up on the water. Do you think these would do well here? How about in a container?
Thats the thing i got them on here thinking hey thats a pretty rose well it turns out its a type of hibiscus and they change color from white to soft pink to bright pink so its still worth growing its a beautiful flower. Since you have warm summers you should be fine considering they die right after frost usally. Not to sure about containers but i would kick it till i tried it(alot of flowers have suprised me with how well they grow in containers). Hope that helped i havent grown these yet but im excited to id go look up pictures its almost like a bush in a way, really pretty though.
