If you actually take time out to teach your dog not to bark, you won't need to shock it....

This isn't necessarily a shocking treatment. It can be set as ultrasonic to get their attention. I would never put anything on my pets that would hurt them. When your dog is an outdoor dog 24/7 is a little more difficult to stop the excessive barking. We used another one on our basset and it only took a few days to have him trained.

Would it possibly fit a medium to small dog? I know it says large lol

It's possible. The strap is adjustable. I ordered for our basset forgetting I had one coming from another source. It may be a little bulky for a small dog.

I had the greatest childhood, my Mother was a groomer and trained me, we sold Peeks and poodles, there was always puppies. I have always had dogs, honestly I trust dogs more than most people.

A border cookie is a very hyper type dog and needs a lot of interaction and play time and walking to help use up some of that energy.

I don't know if it will help with that. It works off sound from the dog like barking or howling.

Thank you...yes hyper..we get out and socialize regularly, here on the island most places(bars etc) are dog friendly so she and her sister pups meet for playdates and treats from their bartender aunties several times a week....but she is non-stop crazy alot more than her litter mates-hoping some day she may grow out of it!

She will to an extent. They are natural herding dogs and are bred to work. Without that they are like a child with AHAD. Lol They need to keep busy a lot. I have a friend with one and they constructed a play area that gave lots of things to do when they couldn't play with them themselves. Seemed to help. Good luck.

@sunshineday54922 get your border collie a back pack. you can put water bottles in it for the weight. it helps them learn by giving them a job to do. alittle work with her and she'll get it in her head when I'm wearing my pack I'm working and to be good.

This is just what I have been looking for, for my male Basset hound. Was hoping he would learn from my females manners, but no go.

I hate to ask this but does this work like it should? Like when it shocks them does it get there att enough to realize they are doing something wrong? Or is it a cheaper one that doesn't work that good? Kinda thought it sounded weird when you said you had another one and forgot and oreder this one. Like maybe you didn't like the way this one worked and pawning it off on someone else... Please don't take this the wrong way

I had bid on this on ebay and before the auction wad over I I saw and bid one another one. This one is actually better than the one I ended up using because it is automatic. You don't have a remote control you have to use. By the time this finally made it here our dog was behaving fine and we didn't need to use either one so I put the unused one up for sale. It's a nice unit, just don't need it now. If you are that concerned about it don't bid on it.
