Well basically what I've been doing is gathering feathers daily and keeping them in an open jar and stuffing a sanwhich bag full of them I never counted how many but there's usually 20-40 in each the baggies I would guess. Depending on the weather. I live in washington state (rainy weather) and feathers are best collected on dry days. And were going into winter but the chickens are still moulting loosing and growing new feathers back in.And my chicken chores. I have 21 chickens currently 4 roosters and 17 hens. Lots of feathers! A mixed flock of various heritage breeds and feather colors. I also feed non GMO certified organic whole grain feed with no soy in it and earthworms, mealworms, flaxseed, sunflower seed, fish meal, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, so the feathers are healthy. I should really update the pictures.
