Description

The listing, The Shadow Year has ended.

In this hypnotically compelling mystery set in the unpredictable 1960's Long Island, a young boy and his brother pass the hot summer by building a replica of their hometown called Botch Town. The brothers soon realize that the strange events happening in the real town bear a striking resemblance to their cardboard creation. Fabulous book, in great shape, smoke-free.

Jeffrey Ford is a newer author and this isn't just another mystery novel. The characters are really developed, and Ford is able to actually transport you to 1960's Long Island. The characters really draw us in. Hard-cover book.

I saw you in the garden stamp auction site, and you said you were into stamping. I thought we would have a lot in common. The book is riveting. I think it was written in 2008 or 2009, and I've been waiting for the author to come out with more. Ford does a great job of creating a sinister story with supernatural overtones, but the character development between the boys and their family really puts in a genre that's hard to define. I think it's a good read!
