This is the first edition of Stephen King's best book, DIFFERENT SEASONS! The book was published in 1981 and three movies have been made off of it: Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, and Apt Pupil.

The stories are AMAZING! You can check to make sure it's a first edition by going to sites like http://stephenkingcollector.com/1st/differentseasons.html

And look at their check list for Different Seasons:

1) Look for Viking's original Address on the copyright page and separately on the dustjacket. You should see 625 Madison Avenue on both.

2) Look for the words "First Published in 1982" on the copyright page

3) Look for the issue price of $16.95 on the dustjacket

4) The book size should be 9.5h x 6.25w (this is the same size as many 1st ed SK books published in the 80's, just slightly taller then the all the 1st edition dark tower books)

5) Boards should be blue in color, quarter bound in dark blue/navy

You can verify all but #3 since I don't have the dust jacket anymore for it. But I have been told by a number of different collectors that it is a first edition.
