Barkcloth is a type of cotton that is made by weaving it like cotton but it has a rough texture on one side of fabric, and it is similar to nubby, but smoother, it doesn't have any loose threads or anything like that, I hope that explains it, I will look at the picture and see if I can take another picture for clarity.
