Over the past month I listed an almost complete set (1909-1958) of Lincoln wheat cents. Most of these were listed as year sets, PDS for the years and PD or PS for the years that cents were not produced at all three mints. Then I realized that some collectors might already have some of the coins for a particular year and only want the ones they need, so I decided to list some as individual coins. For the years that I am listing today all mints will be listed for that year, but as individual coins. The coin pictured is the coin you will receive if you are the high bidder and I have included detailed scans for you to judge the condition.

Because copper was needed for military and industrial uses during WWII the US experimented with zinc coated steel in 1943. When these coins were not up to standard the mint switched to minting cents from spent shell cases for coins minted in 1944, 1945 and 1946. They switched back to the normal composition in 1947.
