Natural Amethyst and 925 Stamped Sterling Silver Pendant BRAND NEW

This is a really pretty pendant. I think the cherries on the bail in that bright silver is what makes it really stand it. It isn't too large. The stone itself is 1 3/8” high and with the bail it is just at 1.5” all together. It weighs 4.25 grams so it would just about fit any style chain.

This pendant has never been worn at all. Literally still brand new. It is stamped 925 Sterling Silver. I will include a fabric bag to keep it in and shipping will be on me with a tracking number and will ship within 48 hours of the auction ending.

While doing a little research on Amethyst I found this story of how the Amethyst got its name and thought it too interesting not to share:
The name Amethyst derives from the Greek word ametusthos, meaning “not intoxicated,” and comes from an ancient legend. The wine god Bacchus, angry over an insult and determined to avenge himself decreed the first person he should meet would be devoured by his tigers. The unfortunate mortal happened to be a beautiful maiden named Amethyst on her way to worship at the shrine of Diana. As the ferocious beasts sprang, she sought the protection of the goddess and was saved by being turned into a clear, white crystal. Bacchus, regretting his cruelty, poured the juice of his grapes over the stone as an offering, giving the gem its lovely purple hue.

This is the first of many pieces to come that are really nice pieces of jewelry. This and any others that I list in the near future are all real metal and genuine stones. Most have never been worn, like this one, but I will definitely describe each piece as either new or worn at all.
